  1. The program about the Fork found in the Rose Theatre was interesting. Shellfish, not the Shakespearean theatre treat I would have expected! Also, it was amusing to hear these "stiff-upper-lip" sorts discussing emergency toiletry with poorly quashed giggles. x|

The actual idea of the Theatre being more open to every class, and the ideas of all these snacks and the "fizzy-ale" elicited thoughts of Brechtian theatre; something where you could "keep your hat on".

  4. England Goes Global...
This program had the central idea of the uknown as it talked about the the way in which our perspective will continuously change about the world as discoveries will keep on being made. Such as space shuttles being relased as it showed us a diffrent way of perciving the world! another idea that has changed the way in which we percieve things such as Darwins theory of Evoloution provoked the church and represented diffrent idea's about why we are here and whether God created everything?
Which influenced some of shakepears writings with new discoveries being made, in the Elizabethan era and in the persent day the means of informing people was done in theatre's teaching them central themes in each diffrent production such as in Romeo and Juliet with has the centeal themes of love and hate as the two sperate families quarrel over something they have forgot about which is why makes shakespeare so great!! because we can all relate to a certain situation such as maybe we fight with our friends and dont communicate we end up forgeting why we are not talking because we are to overwhelmed by our own pride!
On a last note i love the way Shakespeare named the "Globe Theatre" to represent a world on a stage where we go and gather to watch somebody else's life and scenario :)

  5. swordplay and swagger!!...
i enjoyed reading about this! it was really interesting to know why the sword were used in the time of Shakespeare and the purpose of it! this talk about Romeo and Juliet and the way the sword were used so freely against each other and was also common among gang to slice each other at the time!....also it was used for two purposes 1 - fashion accessory and 2 was murder weapon...=)

  6. New science,old magic.
i thought is was very descriptive and in a calm voice explained the wonders of Shakesperian theatre. The first thing that strikes me is acceptance of sprits and magic something skeptacle in modern society but perfecly normal in a script such as the tempest. However through the programe I learnt that Elizabethan society widely belived such things and would gasp as witches made numerous candles go out in usion. What I can take away from this is the thought of seeing a production of shakesperes, the sheer spectable of levatateing object and the apperance of magic.
