  1. Strindberg was born in Sweden in 1849.
    His mother was a barmaid.

    "It's risky to take anything on good faith where a woman is concerned" (Liked this one)

    Happiness consumes itself like a flame. It cannot burn for ever, it must go out, and the presentiment of its end destroys it at its very peak. (love this one, as it stood out to me from the ones on this website.

  4. Biographical Details;
    - Strindberg's mother, Ulrika Eleanora Norling, died when he was a thirteen year old boy. She was originally a servant, though married a shipping director named Carl Oscar Strindberg, August's father. Carl Oscar Strindberg was purpotedly claimaint to 'aristocratic blood.'

    He had said:
    "I have no wish at all to be a "great" writer, let alone a "great" man. It would just embarrass me and betray a false position. I want to go in nightgown and underwear and be known as a scandal-writer, that wouldn´t embarrass me."
    In 1884. ('That' is supposed to be emphasised but this platform won't show it!)

    A review of 'Creditors', however just the written text and not the play itself being performed.
